In September, Pharmacy Forum NI responded to the DHSC consultation on proposed changes to the Human Medicine Regulations 2012, which subsequently came into force on 16 October. The changes will enable the expansion of a trained workforce – pharmacists included – to administer COVID-19 and flu vaccines.
In our consultation response, the Forum urged caution to ensure that vaccine product quality, safety and efficacy are absolutely safeguarded, particularly given the numbers of anticipated doses to be administered.
