Safe Place is an initiative that allows any organisation to provide information and signposting to anyone affected by domestic abuse.
Given the important role that pharmacies play in our communities, the Police Service Northern Ireland and specialist training consultancy Onus are working in partnership to make Safe Place training and resources available free of charge to any pharmacy in Northern Ireland.
Pharmacy Forum NI is encouraging NI pharmacies to take part in the initiative and join one of the training sessions via webinar on the following dates:
- Wednesday 29 September
- Thursday 7 October
Following the information session you will have the opportunity to register your pharmacy as a Safe Place and be provided with a supply of Safe Place resources. As a Safe Place you will display the Safe Place logo which indicates that information on services for anyone affected by domestic violence and abuse is available on the premises. Pharmacies will not have to do anything beyond signposting people to the appropriate services.
Onus will provide information and support to all who sign up to the scheme.

Safe Place training and resources can be used independently or in conjunction with the Ask for ANI domestic abuse scheme promoted by the Forum in June 2021, and which is running in many pharmacies across Northern Ireland.
