This 3-part webinar series aims to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the NI pharmacy profession to cultivate a safe and inclusive workplace environment, keeps in step with our increasingly diversifying workforce and population, and supports current and future workforce needs.

  • successfully prospect for diversity and make the most of its benefits for your organisation
  • learn what support is available for staff facing racial discrimination and how we can foster a mutually supportive work environment
  • understand the key legislation regarding human rights, equality and anti-discrimination

Knowledge, Support, Referral - Support Services Engagement Evening

The evening is designed to afford an opportunity for pharmacists to engage with and learn from key support groups and organisations in Northern Ireland. The focus will be on ensuring that a direct connection is made between the activities of the organisations and the work of pharmacists. It is intended that in addition to knowledge of the specific services, pharmacists will be equipped to identify specific need when it presents and refer on to the appropriate support service/s and/or assist the patient to self-refer.

The groups who will attend are:

NI Chest, Heart & Stroke 
Pancreatic Cancer Action 
Carers Support Services (HSCB)

In all cases the focus will be Northern Ireland specific and regional in outlook.

The learning outcomes for the evening will be:

Increased Knowledge of the work of the charity/organisation & the support/s they can provide
The ability to make a direct connection to pharmacy and pharmacy practice
The ability to identify patients requiring support
Understanding how to refer patients to these services
Where appropriate, improving patient’s self-efficacy through self-management & self-referral
Information stands, networking and refreshments will be available from 6.15pm. Info packs will be provided.
The event is free to attend and will contribute to CPD.
