The Pharmacy Forum NI is calling for nominations for election to the Pharmacy Forum Board. In a changing and diverse environment for pharmacy in NI, with both challenges and opportunities ahead, we are seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals who want to make their voices heard and to play a part in driving leadership and promoting and supporting the profession. There are four places available on the Board, in this election cycle.
- We are looking for people who know that leadership is about understanding context, culture and being able to lead and champion change at many different levels.
- We need advocates for our profession, people who understand the narrative and vision for change that supports our core purpose and our collective endeavour to promote pharmacy.
- We want people who can support colleagues in all settings and ensure they are equipped to thrive and deliver change.
“As our profession continues to face the challenges of delivering the very highest standards of patient care, in a complex environment of ongoing political uncertainty, legislative changes, pressure on resources, technological advances and changing roles and delivery models, a strong, focused, locally based professional leadership body has never been more necessary.
We must be equipped to address the issues facing the profession now, and in the years to come. Whether it is the future of regulation, workforce planning, training and professional development, Re-balancing Legislation, changes to healthcare in Northern Ireland, the impact of Brexit, or continuing to advocate for the role of pharmacists as a vital component of patient-centre care, it is essential that we have the right leadership to take this work forward. As Chair of the Pharmacy Forum NI Board, I urge colleagues to bring their fresh voices and perspectives to bear and to join us in our work. I look forward to welcoming our new Board members, whom I have no doubt will add to the vibrancy, commitment and enthusiasm already shown by our current membership”. Sheelin McKeagney, Chair of The Pharmacy Forum NI Board
