Interim Policy on the disclosure and publication of fitness to practise information

On 1st October 2012, the Pharmacy (1976 Order) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012 and its associated regulations, came into operation.

This enables the Pharmaceutical Society NI to utilise the full range of fitness to practise sanctions including, powers to issue formal warnings, suspensions or place conditions on the practise of pharmacists. It also makes it possible for fitness to practise sanctions to be displayed on the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland’s online public register.

We intend to publicly consult on the publication and disclosure of specific types of information and how the register should display historic fitness to practise information in terms of content and duration.

An interim policy on the disclosure of fitness to practise information will be applied and will be reviewed following the public consultation in 2013.
